Hex Bolt is traditionally known as Hexagonal bolt, and it is widely used to join two unthreaded components, supported with a nut. ASTM A193 typically comes in handy to construct a bolted joint. This comprises an axial clamping force getting applied with a nut, and also the use of the shank of the bolt that works as a dowel, and a joint is pinned against sideways shear forces. In most cases, ASTM A193 hex bolts are commonly used in the assembly process, with the corresponding nut getting turned when required.
